End-User License Agreement
This End-User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (“you”) and Tomas Hrdy (“we”, “us”) for the Sheltora software, including its executables, assets and documentation (the “Software”). By installing or using the Software you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
1. License grant
The Software is currently provided free of charge. We grant you (whether an individual or an organization) a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on any number of devices you control, for personal, educational and commercial (business) purposes.
Future versions of the Software may introduce paid plans (for example, above a certain number of saved sessions). Any such terms will apply only to those future versions and do not affect your use of the version you already have; see Section 10 (Changes).
2. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Software for a fee without our written permission;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices;
- use the Software to access systems you are not authorized to access, or for any unlawful purpose.
Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
3. Beta software
The Software is currently provided as a beta release. It may contain defects, may change or be discontinued at any time, and is not code-signed yet — your operating system may show a warning on first launch. Use it at your own risk and keep backups of any important data.
4. Privacy
The Software does not require an account and does not include telemetry, tracking or advertising. Your sessions, keys and passwords stay on your device unless you explicitly export them. See the homepage for details on the privacy-first design.
5. Third-party components
The Software includes open-source components licensed under their own terms (for example, the embedded terminal uses xterm.js under the MIT License). Those licenses continue to apply to their respective components.
6. Intellectual property
The Software is licensed, not sold. We retain all right, title and interest in and to the Software, including the Sheltora name and logo. No rights are granted except as expressly set out in this Agreement.
7. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SOFTWARE.
9. Termination
This Agreement applies until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach its terms; upon termination you must stop using and delete the Software. Sections 6–8 survive termination.
10. Changes
We may update this Agreement from time to time. The current version is always available at sheltora.com/eula. Continued use of the Software after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
